Easiest Upcycled Dog Collar Ever!

I started this project 15 minutes ago and I'm already blogging about it...that's how easy it was!!

INSTRUCTIONS:

Find an old collared shirt and test fit it around your dog's neck.

Make sure it has the collared button with it (not all collared shirts are created equal).  You can see what I'm talking about in this next picture.

Just cut the collar off the shirt...literally.  Then use Fray Check (a product that stops fabric from fraying) along the bottom edge and voila!!  Brand new dog collar!

He looks handsome, don't ya think?

Thanks for visiting our blog! Yes, we are all American Eskimos. I am Siku, momma's first, a Kansas girl. Then there is Quinn, my rescue bro' from LA who came to live with us last March. And Nuka, a senior deaf mixed girl who we adopted from Florida last October. And finally, Puff a breeder from a puppy mill in Kansas who came to live with us right before the holidays. We hope you visit again and we look forward to getting to know you better.

You have some very clever ideas... Momma thinks Quinn would look very elegent in one of those collars.

OMG! I love, love, love your idea for a boyish collar! I am not a sewer at all so I will not be making any of these but I will buy some as gifts for our male dog clients unless you have some girly collars! Brilliant idea!

Great idea. I'm going to try this one when I find a shirt. I suppose I'll have a tough time finding one to fit Oliver, my Papillon. Any suggestions?

This is awesome!! Ilove it!! Although my dog is a Sheltie and has a big mane, a manly collar like this might not be visible... but I'm going to make one anyway! Thanks for sharing - this is sooo sweet!!

That is so hilarious. Guess the thing that makes it so funny is the serious look on our friend's face as he dons that collar. Looks like he's right on top of the style too because I hear plaid's back with a vengeance.

Other than that love the fact that this is such a simple craft to follow. Thanks!

OMD! I'm making one of these for Kirby! I used thread and needle for the collar so I wish I had seen your post before then. Glue would have been much quicker! I'm shortening a tie for Kirby's too. Only $10 at Walmart for a boy's shirt and tie!!

Love your blog!!

What a great idea! I can't wait to try this! My poodles don't like getting dressed, but they probably won't mind if it's their collars. :)

Thanks for sharing!

Good day to you my friend. I needed to give you a quick note to express my thanks. I've been studying your blog for a month or so and have picked up quite a lot of good info as well as enjoyed the way in which you've setup your blog. I am attempting to setup my own blog but I feel it is too general. I want to focus more on specific topics. Being all things to all folks isn't all that it’s cracked up to be. Many thanks.
